TARGET - A professional learning community

TARGET meetings are wonderful places to connect with like-minded educators:

"This past week I attended the first TARGET meeting of the year.  I came to this meeting with a plethora of ideas in my head about an Action Research project that I had an interest in but lacked any type of vision on how to proceed.  In conversation with a colleague from another school, I discovered that we shared a similar interest in the area of assessment.  We decided to collaborate on our Action Research and are excited about the opportunity to work on a valuable project together and the purpose that our research will ultimately serve.  TARGET provides the invaluable structure of a professional learning community; providing support for the development of educational research made through connections with like-minded educators throughout Southern Ontario. The food was good too!"

Our first meeting - a great turnout!

On Thursday, November 17, TARGET welcomed 42 educators from 13 different schools to the first general meeting of the 2011/2012 academic year. Leanne Foster delivered an informative and humorous keynote on developing critical questions. Many relationships were formed through this thoughtful professional learning community. We are working at developing partnerships via peer mentoring, all in our quest to truly support and guide educators through the action research project. We look forward to seeing everyone at our next meeting on January 26.
